Our long-term loan of a 2023 Toyota Sienna Platinum AWD has been a solid family hauler for many miles. But while its hybrid powertrain has been sipping fuel on long road trips, I've been sipping lots and lots of water. More than your average water bottle will hold. I'm pretty much always thirsty, which is why I bring along a really big water bottle — one that often doesn't fit in your average cupholder. Maybe you also rock a 32-ounce Nalgene, or some other oversize container, and run into the same problem. Well, now I can tell you if that problem extends to the Sienna Minivan.

JOHN SNYDER: Hello there. John Snyder with Autoblog here, and in front of me is the 2023 Toyota Sienna. This is the Platinum all-wheel drive long-termer that we've had for a little while, and I've got it up north. It's been rained on, down dirt roads, full of Lake Huron sand, so it's due for a deep cleaning, but I'll do that when I get home.

For now, let's see where I can put a Nalgene in it. Now, I've had this for a little while, so I already know the results of some of these, but there are lots of cup holders in this thing.

So first, there's these guys. No dice. No dice. And then there's a couple more here. Obviously not. There's nothing down there to put it in. There's a few in the door, but it doesn't fit there. It will pop out of that.

Now, let's check in back. Let's see. There's these guys in the doors right here. I haven't tested these yet, but nope. It's got these right here. Again, no. Has these interesting little guys right here. I haven't tested this yet. I don't know if I can do this one handed, and I will cut the video and let you know if it fits.

So it just sort of sticks in the very top. Any further and I'd end up ripping that little fabric net. And this is going to fall out as soon as the vehicle starts moving, so that's a no.

And then let's see. The backseat passengers have some cup holders too. Nope and nope. Then there's two more over there that are the same size. So out of all these cup holders in this Sienna, none of them can take on the Nalgene. Kind of a bummer, but anyway, there it is, what you've been dying to know. Can the Sienna accommodate the Nalgene? And no, it cannot. Thanks for watching.

2023 BMW M2 Nalgene test

Cupholders aren't exactly top priority in European sport coupes. As such, I wasn't particularly hopeful this 2023 BMW M2 would make a happy home for an oversized water bottle like a 32-ounce Nalgene. It's important that I try, though. There are literally tens of you that rely on this important …
